Oil and Monotype on Hardboard – 96″ x 48″ in 4 panels

Verronica and Janessa are collaborators on this piece. It measures 8′ x 4′ in 4 panels. Janessa has worked with me on Sisters but this is Verronica’s first large monotype. The base layer is pretty stark, just the pair’s body prints in the same colors. Janessa is on the right and Verronica’s body makes up the forms on the left as well as the center form in the sky.

Blocking in color in acrylic, I followed the initial lines that the girls had traced of one another onto the surface. As I continued in oils, I started finding bones in the work. It’s working title comes from those bones and the wings in the corners.
