In my last days in Portland, I chose to concentrate on portraits. I’ve always shied away from the likeness, it’s been very difficult for me to capture. The model, Amy, happened to be nine months pregnant at the time. She was expecting at the end of March. We had a great conversation about babies. I really enjoyed working with her and did two portraits, one on canvas and the second on gessoed paper, more loose that the first. I like to explore a couple of approaches and pick my favorite.
