Monotype and Oil on Hardboard 24″x 48″
Staring at this reminds me of T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land;
“APRIL is the cruelest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
Winter kept us warm, covering
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers.”
It’s full of violence and color bursting out of mud and melting blue. A seed that lay dormant until it no longer could.
